Cinismo organizacional: una revision de la literatura y algunas consideraciones conceptuales

Resumen


El cinismo organizacional es una actitud negativa del empleado hacia la organización empleadora, sustentada en la creencia de que ésta carece de integridad, que ha quebrantado los principios de justicia y honestidad a favor de intereses personales de los líderes, y que sus acciones se basan en motivaciones ocultas. Se trata de un constructo multidimensional que incluye componentes afectivos (ira, angustia, desconfianza, vergüenza) y conativos (tendencias a la crítica y el desprecio) consistentes con esas creencias. A pesar del impacto del tema tanto sobre las organizaciones como sus miembros, hasta la fecha no se registra un cuerpo de investigaciones sistemático que refleje la preocupación de los especialistas sobre esta problemática. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar una puesta al día de la bibliografía sobre cinismo organizacional, a través de un recorrido que va desde su diferenciación con otras actitudes laborales hasta los instrumentos desarrollados para su medición, pasando por el análisis de sus principales antecedentes y consecuencias. Dentro de tal recorrido se ha dedicado especial consideración al desarrollo de algunas perspectivas teóricas, tales como violación del contrato psicológico, atribución causal y teoría de los eventos afectivos, por su rol explicativo destacado. Se ofrecen, asimismo, lineamientos para futuras investigaciones en el área.
